
Dr. Aggeliki Anagnostou has been an elected Assistant Professor of “Macroeconomic Theory and Policy” at the Department of Economics, University of Thessaly, since 2016. She has also served as a Lecturer in courses such as Macroeconomic Analysis, Theories of Economic Development, and Advanced Macroeconomics during 2009–2010, and as a Lecturer in Macroeconomic Theory and Policy from 2010 to 2016.
From 2003 to 2010, she worked as a Teaching Associate at the Lecturer level in the Department of Tourism Management at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Larissa, as well as a teaching associate in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics at the Department of Spatial Planning, Urban and Regional Development of the University of Thessaly.
She holds a BA degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Alberta, Canada, an MA in International Macroeconomics from the University of Liverpool, UK, and a PhD in Applied Econometrics of Financial Markets from the University of Sheffield, UK. Her doctoral dissertation was titled: Modelling the Dynamic Behaviour of the Greek Stock & Foreign Exchange Markets: A Non-linear Time Series Approach.
Dr. Anagnostou has contributed chapters to four edited volumes and published articles in reputable scientific journals such as The Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Journal of Environment & Planning C: Government & Policy, Comparative Economic Studies, Eurasian Economic Review, Social Indicators Research, Empirica, European Urban and Regional Studies, Italian Journal of Regional Studies, and International Journal of Production Economics.
She has participated in numerous scientific conferences and research projects both as a collaborator and as a principal investigator. She has extensive experience coordinating and implementing research programs.
Her research interests focus on the study of macroeconomic policies (fiscal and monetary policy) and the application of advanced macroeconometric models—such as the HERMIN model, TERM model, CGE models, non-linear models, and PANEL VAR model analysis—in macroeconomic theory and policy at both national and regional levels.
