
Dimitris Kallioras is a Professor of Economics and Regional Development at the Department of Planning and Regional Development, University of Thessaly. He is the Director of the Laboratory for Policy and Development Program Evaluation, an elected member of the European Organizing Committee and Internal Auditor of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA), and an Expert Evaluator for the Secretary General for Research and Innovation at the Ministry of Development.
Dimitris has served as Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Aeichoros and has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Toulon (France) and the Central University of Finance and Economics (Beijing, China). He holds a PhD from the University of Thessaly and completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Macedonia.
His main research interests include economic development, regional development, economic geography, economic integration, regional inequalities, and regional policy. He has participated in numerous European (e.g., HORIZON, ESPON, INTERREG, ERASMUS+) and national research projects and has published many articles in high-quality scientific journals and edited volumes.
